Riding The Booster   Leave a comment

Ever wonder what it sounded like during a shuttle launch? Well, to quote Youtube on this one….

—From the upcoming Special Edition Ascent: Commemorating Space Shuttle DVD/BluRay by NASA/Glenn a movie from the point of view of the Solid Rocket Booster with sound mixing and enhancement done by the folks at Skywalker Sound. The sound is all from the camera microphones and not fake or replaced with foley artist sound. The Skywalker sound folks just helped bring it out and make it more audible.

…in other words, that’s the actual sounds heard from that perspective during a shuttle launch, said perspective being that of the Solid Rocket Boosters…

CMB Music: Event Horizon Credits Theme   Leave a comment

Watched the movie Event Horizon earlier today and I have to admit, it’s not a bad movie, the critics’ notwithstanding…and its’ a sci-fi film, which I always try to watch whenever I can. It’s also got a pretty good piece of ending theme music, as evidenced by tonight’s musical selection, “Funky Shit” by The Prodigy.

Megyn Kelly Destroys Erickson And Dobbs: ‘Who Died And Made You Scientist-In-Chief?!’   Leave a comment

As much as I like to slag at Fox News, I have to admit, I’m pleasantly surprised and shocked that Megyn Kelly actually stood up to tow of the Right’s resident bullies in Erick Erickson & Lou Dobbs…

Not only has my respect for her gone up, since she seems to be one of the few over there that actually knows what they’re doing but I have to wonder: as smart as she seems to be most of the time, why the hell is she still with Fox News?

The Fifth Column

Megyn Kelly took two of her Fox colleagues to the woodshed this afternoon.

In response to Erick Erickson and Lou Dobbs making controversial comments this week about a Pew study finding that 40% of American households have a mother as breadwinner, Kelly brought the two of them onto her show and proceeded to tear into them.

To recap: during a Wednesday evening segment of FBN’s Lou Dobbs Tonight, Erickson, Dobbs, and other Fox male contributors lamented the Pew study’s “troubling” findings, claiming it signaled a disintegration of the American family. Erickson went the farthest with his analysis, claiming it is “anti-science” to not believe that men are supposed to play the dominant role in the household. The group collectively bemoaned the increase of female breadwinners.

In response, this afternoon, Kelly asked: “What makes you dominant and me submissive and who died and made you scientist-in-chief?”

FBC’s Lou Dobbs Wants U.S. To Declare War On China   Leave a comment

h/t to Crooks & Liars

Just when I start to think the conservative love affair with perpetual war is beginning ever so slightly to wane, someone up and proves me wrong….our latest example: Glenn Beck-wannabe Lou Dobbs of Fox Business News, who believes that, due to China’s long-standing efforts to attack the U.S. via cyberwarfare, it is time the United States declares war on its’ largest trading partner….

Remember, a little over a year ago, the Joint Chiefs made a similar statement, that in certain instances, intrusions in cyberspace will be considered an act of war against the United States and will be treated as such. What more… what in God’s name would it take to create an act of war? You couldn’t do this in anything but the virtual world and have their be any doubt about it. It’s an act of war.(Crooks & Liars)

One of these days, conservatives will finally begin to drop the idea of perpetual wars….until then, God help America if they ever get back into power.

Leader of Armed March On Washington Calls For ‘Revolutionary Army’ To Topple Government   Leave a comment

Maybe I’m wrong here, but isn’t what these gun-nuts are considering…isn’t that considered sedition in most parts?

The Fifth Column

So, this is my question.  Do they think because the Black guy is  the president, it will be easy to overthrow the “government” (aka Obama)?  In fact, do they know anything about our military power which we are NOT supposed to use on American citizens unless they plan on having an armed revolution against the government?  I mean, how stupid are these people?   They’re pretty much goading the government into action against them if they go through with this farce…

Think Progress

Thousands of people signed up to attend an armed march on Washington over the course of the last month. But now, the leader of the march is setting his sights much higher than a single demonstration — he wants his armed followers to help overthrow the American government.

About a month ago, a gun activist named Adam Kokesh called for thousands of people to join him in…
