Ted Yoho Is An Idiot   4 comments

Apparently he’s also an abject failure at economics as well, as evidenced by this gem of a statement concerning why the United States shouldn’t raise the pending debt ceiling…quoting WaPo via Booman Tribune:

Now, Yoho is ready for a bigger fight. He doesn’t want to raise the debt ceiling — ever again. The experts, and Republican leaders, say that would trigger a financial catastrophe.

But Yoho didn’t listen to them about the shutdown. And look how that turned out.

“I think we need to have that moment where we realize [we’re] going broke,” Yoho said. If the debt ceiling isn’t raised, that will sure as heck be a moment. “I think, personally, it would bring stability to the world markets,” since they would be assured that the United States had moved decisively to curb its debt.(Washington Post)

Mr. Yoho, there is a reason the world invests in American debt: it’s one of the safest investments that anyone can make in the world and, as Booman points out, as long as the rest of the world believes that, the U.S. will almost certainly never go broke…and you want to screw that up, Mr. Yoho?

Like I said in the title, Ted Yoho is an idiot…

  1. Would you possobly live in Asheville? My best friend does and I am retiring to North Carolina’s Sin City. Maybe the GOP is huffing or taking meth. They do seem to lack more than their usual illogic.LOL Hugs, Barbara

    • For the record, I live about 60 miles east in Morganton, Rebel…but I’ve been to Asheville enough times to say two things: (1)it’s one of the nicest cities to visit and/or live in and (2)the drive down the mountain from Asheville can be close to an E-ticket ride as you can safely have in a vehicle.

What’s also interesting about the city I once referred to as “the San Francisco of the Mountains” is that it is also, as far as I know, one of the the most liberal cities, politically-speaking in NC (maybe not quite to the level of a Carrboro or Chapel Hill but close), which probably explains why the geniuses down in Raleigh redistricted most all of Asheville out of the 11th Congressional District and placed it into the 10th Congressional District, thus throttling the city’s influence w/in the district as it went from a competitive (at that time) district to the reddest district in all of the Old North State…

      • Oh this is so cool. I agree Asheville is so wonderful. I have always had great experiences there. My BFF lives in Arden now and used to live in Black Mountain. I hope to join her when I retire completely. How nice to “meet” someone else there. By the way, have you been hearing anything about Satanic murders there? Sacrificing of children? My girlfriend sent me an article by some woman.
