You know, the more I read the first part of Peter M. DeLorenzo’s Dec. 11 On The Table segment over at Autoextremist (quoting)…

Editor-in-Chief’s Note: People expected me to comment on the U.S. Government finally selling off its remaining shares of General Motors on Tuesday, but I said all I had to say about it in a previous column in November – “The Implosion of Detroit, Five Years After.” The fact that it’s done is helpful to a lot of people at GM, especially the True Believers who kept the product faith against some incredible odds and delivered outstanding work over these last five years. Now, some of those people may get paid a little more. And some new talent may be able to be wooed by GM with competitive salaries. So there’s that. Is the company’s incredibly tone deaf and relentlessly ill-equipped CEO riding off into the sunset with cash in hand? You bet, that was a given from the very beginning. Remember, it was all about the money to Captain Queeg and his merry band of carpetbaggers. But is it going to be better? Read my column this week. – PMD

…the more I really hope General Motors, (a) has continued success in the future and (b)embarrasses Mr. DeLorenzo for writing such drivel for in my opinion, he’s one of the worst automotive writers hacks out there in the journalistic world.

….and no, I ain’t apologizing for it, either!

  1. I thank you for sharing this with us. It is shocking that Detroit is talking bankruptcy. In America a city the size of Detroit does just give up…unless that is what they do. Hugs, Barbara
