In The Shadow Of 9/11

On the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, here’s something I wrote back on the 10th anniversary, back in 2011….”In The Shadow of 9/11″.

–Every American generation has its’ defining event, that one singular moment when you know the world has forever changed……..for my grandparents generation, it was Pearl Harbor…….for my parents’ generation it was the assassination of JFK…….for my generation, it was September 11th.

I still remember everything about that day after 10 years. I can still see in my mind how clear the skies were that day and how beautifully vibrant the blues’ of the sky were; I was caring for my mom at the time and when I awoke that morning around 8:30am, the first thing I heard was her yelling out, “Hey, son; turn your TV on…..there’s been a plane crash in New York!” I wasn’t scheduled to work that day until noon so I had…
