Limbaugh: “Leftist Political Attitude” Caused Robin Williams To Kill Himself   3 comments

Sometimes there are simply no words to express how sick Rush Limbaugh can be at times; case in point, Limbaugh’s words below regarding the death of comedic icon Robin Williams

Radio host Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday said that actor Robin Williams’ alleged suicide was caused by his “political leftist” state of mind.

“What is the left’s world view in general?” Limbaugh asked his audience the day after Williams’ death was announced. “If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist world view. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?”

“They’re animated in large part by the false promises of America because the promises of America are not for everyone,” he continued, pointing to a Fox News report that suggested Williams had struggled with financial issues, and survivor’s guilt after the deaths of entertainers like Christopher Reeve, Andy Kaufman and John Belushi.

“Robin Williams felt guilty that he was still alive while his three friends had died young, and much earlier than he had.” the conservative talker explained. “He could never get over the guilt that they died and he didn’t.”

“Well, that is a constant measurement that is made by political leftists in judging the country.”(Media Matters via. Crooks & Liars)

Like I said at the beginning of this post, there are simply no words here..except for this: Fuck you, Rush…no really, fuck you. You couldn’t even wait for Williams’ to be in the ground before slagging on him, couldn’t you, you lower-than-low sack of whale shit? Do us all a damned favor, Rushbo, and crawl back under whatever motherfuckin’ rock you came out from; better still, while you’re under that damned rock, wash your mouth out with bleach…the world would be an infinitely better place if you did.

Keith Olbermann Eviscerates Sports Media Over Their Treatment Of Women   6 comments

Just watch…trust me, just watch Keith Olbermann’s monologue above, where he uses the NFL’s insultingly pathetic two-game suspension of Baltimore Ravens’ star Ray Rice for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy as an informative segue into how the media (and society in general) continue their double-standard in regards to women.

All I can say is: well said, sir! Well said.

What Have We Got To Lose?   Leave a comment

You know, the more I think about the possibility of NBC replacing current Meet the Press host David Gregory with the current co-hosts from MSNBC’s Morning Joe, the more I agree with Booman Tribune about everything it would say about America on the whole. For what its’ worth, you could even bring some of the television hosts blonde talking-heads from over at Fox News Fixed Noise to host MTP and you’d get roughly the same result…at the very least, the collective IQ of the show would go up what, five points or so? Maybe 10 – if they were lucky enough to get one of the few intelligent hosts from over there (Megyn Kelly comes to mind on this one)…the end project might be the same but at least the IQs would go up.

Opie & Anthony Host Fired After Racist Twitter Rant   Leave a comment

Couldn’t happen to a nicer…piece of garbage.

SiriusXM announced today that it has fired Anthony Cumia, co-host of the popular radio show “Opie and Anthony,” after a he published a racist tirade on Twitter. The outburst occured after Cumia alleged he was assaulted by a black woman on the street. He called the woman an “animal b—-” and “savage,” among other things..(Think Progress)

..and when they say ‘other things’ in the quote above, trust me when I say Cumia’s tweets escalated very quickly in both tone and derogatory nature. Think Progress has all the sordid, nasty details of Cumia’s racist twitter screed but suffice it to say, I seriously doubt we’ll be seeing him around radio anytime soon, if ever again.

Then again, he might have a future over on Fox News someday, so who the hell knows…

Fox News Host Calls Out Iraq War Hawks For Wanting To Get Us Involved There Again   Leave a comment

Either Fox News’ Shepard Smith has got balls the size of Jupiter or he’s got some serious dirt on Rupert Murdoch & Company; how else can anyone explain how come he’s the only sane one there:

Smith: Are we about to be drawn back into a conflict in Iraq? The same people who 12 years ago told us this will be quick, this will be easy, this will be inexpensive, they will see us as liberators, it’s the right thing to do, are now telling us, ‘It’s the right thing to do.’ What’s the endgame? Who’s thought this through?(Fox News via. Crooks & Liars)

Once again, the chickenhawks (Bush-43, Darth Cheney & his evil spawn, Condi Rice, Rummy, etc.) who brought us the Iraq War apparently want us to expend more blood & treasure in that godforsaken land…and Shep called them out on it. Later on in his show, while interviewing Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace, he had this gem of a comment:

Smith: I don’t think people understand how serious this is yet. I’m talking about people out there because what happened was, we went to war after they told us, Paul Wolfowitz stood up and told us there are no sectarian troubles in iraq, remember? he was talking to Eric Shinseki at the time Chris, remember that? Said there are no sectarian problems in Iraq like we’ve seen in other places, they’re not going to rise up against each other. There’s no evidence of that. That’s what they told us.

Then we went in there, we went in for eleven years, then we drew down as President Bush set a time line and president Obama got out. And when we drew down we asked to keep some soldiers there And Nuri-al Maliki said no to an agreement. Then we left. Their sectarian civil war began and they’re ringing us up on the phone asking us to come back because the half million men we trained quit, have melted away in the face of a few hundred insurgents. That’s what they’re wanting. Is there anybody pushing back?

To quote Crooks & Liars’ Jon Amato…“All in all, an impressive performance from Shep Smith. Keep it up, please.” For what its’ worth, I agree w/Amato…I’m also of a mind to ask: if Shep’s this smart, what the hell’s he still doing there at Fox?

ESPN & Fox Sports Ink 8-Year Broadcast Deal With MLS, U.S. Soccer   Leave a comment

The more I read about the recently announced deal between ESPN and Fox Sports to broadcast both Major League Soccer and U.S. National matches, I’m of two minds over it. On the one hand, this is a major deal, by all accounts back-to-back MLS broadcasts on Sundays at 5 and 7pm beginning in 2015 along with a minimum of 10 USMNT/USWNT match broadcasts each year through 2022 and given ESPN’s broadcast power, this should definitely be a boost for MLS. On the other hand, one wonders how NBC Universal will treat both MLS and US national match broadcasts; will they go all-out and finish their three-year broadcast contract on a high…or will they simply mail it in the rest of the year?

CBS Reporter Resigns Over Alleged Media Bias   Leave a comment

Shame she couldn’t have taken Lara Logan with her as well…quoting Politico:

CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday.

Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsize influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt that her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

At the same time, Attkisson’s reporting on the Obama administration, which some staffers characterized as agenda-driven, had led network executives to doubt the impartiality of her reporting. She is currently at work on a book — tentatively titled “Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Obama’s Washington” — that addresses the challenges of reporting critically on the administration.(Politico)

The more I read this, the more I wonder how long it’ll be before we see Sharyl Attkisson’s trade over on the clown car that is Fox News the conservative right-wing echo chamber.
