Another Boy-Wonder Stunt From James O’Keefe   Leave a comment

You know, there’s stupid..there’s criminally stupid…and then there’s the Right’s favorite boy-wonder Johnny Knoxville wannabe, James O’Keefe:

In the stupid is as stupid does file, James O’Keefe, a conservative film maker and would be community activist, went to Canada and then crossed back over into the United States wearing a garb that looked like an ISIS/ISIL uniform carrying a duffle bag labeled RICIN, and all to show would be terrorists such as ISIL just how easy it is to sneak into the United States from Canada.(Breitbart Unmasked via. Crooks & Liars)

Now, I know I’m not the sharpest rainbow-colored tool in the political toolshed but even I know the last thing anyone should do is essentially give any would-be terrorist a roadmap on how to enter the country surreptitiously…to quote Crooks & Liars:

What’s next from O’Keefe, a handbook on how to make weapons from every day household supplies like in the old Anarchists Cookbook from Paladin Press?

Limbaugh: “Leftist Political Attitude” Caused Robin Williams To Kill Himself   3 comments

Sometimes there are simply no words to express how sick Rush Limbaugh can be at times; case in point, Limbaugh’s words below regarding the death of comedic icon Robin Williams

Radio host Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday said that actor Robin Williams’ alleged suicide was caused by his “political leftist” state of mind.

“What is the left’s world view in general?” Limbaugh asked his audience the day after Williams’ death was announced. “If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist world view. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?”

“They’re animated in large part by the false promises of America because the promises of America are not for everyone,” he continued, pointing to a Fox News report that suggested Williams had struggled with financial issues, and survivor’s guilt after the deaths of entertainers like Christopher Reeve, Andy Kaufman and John Belushi.

“Robin Williams felt guilty that he was still alive while his three friends had died young, and much earlier than he had.” the conservative talker explained. “He could never get over the guilt that they died and he didn’t.”

“Well, that is a constant measurement that is made by political leftists in judging the country.”(Media Matters via. Crooks & Liars)

Like I said at the beginning of this post, there are simply no words here..except for this: Fuck you, Rush…no really, fuck you. You couldn’t even wait for Williams’ to be in the ground before slagging on him, couldn’t you, you lower-than-low sack of whale shit? Do us all a damned favor, Rushbo, and crawl back under whatever motherfuckin’ rock you came out from; better still, while you’re under that damned rock, wash your mouth out with bleach…the world would be an infinitely better place if you did.

Grover Norquist Goes To…Burning Man?!?   Leave a comment

…and to think I thought I’d seen it all: apparently, Grover Norquist – he of the ‘let’s shrink government down to the point where I can drown it in the bathtub” philosophy of life – is traveling to this year’s Burning Man festival.

Quoting conservatism’s resident dolt:

There’s no government that organizes this….That’s what happens when nobody tells you what to do. You just figure it out. So Burning Man is a refutation of the argument that the state has a place in nature.

This is a fun, exciting, cheerful collection of people being free of state control and doing stuff they want to do…. If somebody wants to sit in a corner and read Hayek, I think that that’s allowed. If people want to run around with not as much clothes as they normally do, I think that’s allowed as well.(Bloomberg News via. Booman Tribune)

Now, although I’ve never been to Burning Man, from what I’ve read, ole’ Grover should have a very interesting time there; he’ll especially love the parts of Burning Man’s Ten Principles that involve the lack of commercialism, civic responsibility amongst those who travel there and Burning Man’s views on the environment, namely leaving the area in the same if not better shape than they found it.

To borrow & paraphrase Booman’s quote: how the hell can I get a gig to Burning Man so that I can see the shock on Norquist’s face when he gets there?

What The Hell…Sarah Palin To Launch Her Own Channel?   1 comment

God, I wish this were satire…unfortunately, its’ not:

The Sarah Palin Channel, which costs $9.95 per month or $99.95 for a one-year subscription, will feature her commentary on “important issues facing the nation,” as well as behind-the-scenes looks into her personal life as “mother, grandmother, wife and neighbor.” Palin serves as executive editor, overseeing all content posted to the channel.

“I want to talk directly to you on our channel, on my terms — and no need to please the powers that be,” Palin, who is also a Fox News contributor, said in a video announcing the channel. “Together, we’ll go beyond the sound bites and cut through the media’s politically correct filter.”(Variety via. Crooks & Liars)

What’s that saying again…“a fool and his money are soon parted”? Well, wouldn’t this be another of that saying at work? For that matter, come to think of it, why in the hell do we still take Sarah Palin seriously?

Anyone…anyone…Bueller?!?

The GOP’s Continuing Off-The-Rails Travails   Leave a comment

You know, I can’t help but decide whether the GOP still has a few rational, thinking people in it still or whether the party, on the whole, has just decided to go completely batshit crazy…I mean, just scrolling through Teagan Goddard’s Political Wire site will give you plenty of examples of the latter:

I could go on, but you get the idea…we no longer have two political parties; instead, we have the Democratic Party – as corporatized as they can be at times….and an insane asylum impersonating the Republican Party.

Congressman Asks Pregnant Woman Why Obamacare Covers Maternity Services   Leave a comment

I don’t know what’s worse here, that (a)Rep. Mark Meadows (Jackass-NC) actually had the stones to ask what he did and (b)that he’s currently the representative for the congressional district I live in at present?

A lawmaker from North Carolina spent several minutes badgering a pregnant doctor about why Obamacare requires plans to cover maternity services, telling her it’s a service that people like him will never use, during a House committee hearing this week.(Think Progress)

Yeah, he went there…here’s my question: if you want the ACA to not cover maternity services, I think it also shouldn’t cover Viagra and other such items, but what do I know? I’m just an American who believes health care’s a right, not a privilege.

Coming To Bookshelves…A Duck Dynasty Bible?   Leave a comment

You know, there are times when I wish I was making this shit up…this ain’t one of them, though:

We kid you not. It will be a King James Bible with added commentary by Phil Robertson and his son, Alan.

The Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible will be released by Christian publisher Thomas Nelson, and will focus on five values of the Robertson family: “Faith, Family, Fellowship, Forgiveness, and Freedom.”

The two Robertsons will write 30 “life-changing testimonials,” as well as 125 “Set Your Sights” features, for the Bible. Their writings will add some personal insight on “how they’ve seen God transform lives and accomplish His plans for people.”(Liberaland via. Crooks & Liars)

You know, its’ a sad day when people of good Christian will (and I loose that term loosely) decide to turn to a bunch of fake-ass Cajun rednecks for spiritual advice and solace…on the other hand, can you just imagine the outrage if a group of liberals decided to publish their own version of the Bible?
